2003
A workshop, a toolbox, and a promise.
Imbati Electricals opened its doors in Nairobi as a small electrical contracting outfit — house wiring, fault-finding, and industrial repairs. The promise from day one was simple: turn up when you say you will, and leave the work safer than you found it. Word-of-mouth from those first jobs built the foundation everything else stands on.
2008 – 2012
From small jobs to full buildings.
As Nairobi's skyline grew, so did our scope. We moved from single-room wiring to complete electrical installations on residential developments, shops, salons and offices — slab conduiting, distribution boards, three-phase power and lighting design. This was the season that taught us how to run multi-site crews without losing the craftsmanship of a single technician.
2015
Going solar — before it was mainstream.
Power outages and rising tariffs pushed our clients to ask the same question over and over: 'Can you put us on solar?' We invested in training, partnered with tier-1 panel and inverter brands, and added solar design and installation to the business. What started as solar floodlights and street poles grew into full hybrid systems for homes, shops and workshops.
2018 – 2022
A recognizable red-coverall crew.
The branded red coveralls became a familiar sight on rooftops, construction sites and along estate fences across Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru and beyond. We grew the team to include women and young engineers, formalised safety procedures, and standardised our packages so customers always know exactly what they're paying for.

From our base at Terry House on Mfangano Street in Nairobi's CBD, we serve homes, businesses and industries countrywide — designing and installing solar hybrid systems from 1.5 kVA up to 20 kVA and beyond, alongside full electrical engineering services. We're 24/7, family-run in spirit, and still treat every callout the way we treated the very first one in 2003.
